Cisco today launched Cisco Connected Women (CCW) within the UAE – part of a worldwide initiative which offers its female employees opportunities for development, networking and philanthropic activities. Cisco Connected Women is the first chapter to be established in the region and supports the UAE vision of a ‘Connected Nation’. The initiative recognizes the need for more women to participate in the technology industry. Currently, over 50 female Cisco employees in the UAE undertake mentoring, career advice, work-life balance and personal development activities.

Comstor, a dedicated VAD of Cisco networking, collaboration and data centre solutions and a business unit of the Westcon Group, recently won the Cisco Partner Summit Award for Global Distribution Partner. In addition, Comstor received global recognition for the company’s Distribution Accelerated Partner (DAP) programme and was recipient of 15 theatre, geography and country-specific awards. Comstor MENA achieved a unique hat-trick of results. In addition to the Global Award, the distributor also won the UAE distributor of the year as well as the Regional Distributor of the year for Africa and Levant region.
